Detailed Cover

What each module is designed to cover

The material below reflects the product information provided for Cyber Insurance, including claim examples and the headline statistics used in the product literature.

Theft of Funds

Your Cyber Insurance policy will reimburse you for the funds lost as a result of a cyber incident or hacking of your bank account, payment cards or mobile wallet. It also covers investigation costs, insufficient-fund or default fees, and legal fees to prosecute the third party who committed the theft.

Example

You receive an email that appears to be from a legitimate source, but it is actually spoofed. After you provide your username and password, the attacker gains unauthorised access to your bank account or mobile wallet and steals funds.

Statistics
Banking app average loss: R19 793 per incident.
Online banking average loss: R37 197 per incident.
